Job Description

A full-time Music Therapist position is available at a K-12 school located in Princeton, IN. This contract role spans the current school year (CSY) and offers an exciting opportunity to work with students across a broad age range, providing therapeutic music interventions designed to support emotional, cognitive, social, and physical development.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized music therapy sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of K-12 students
• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and other support staff to integrate music therapy into individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assess student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Facilitate group and individual sessions to promote social skills, communication, and emotional expression
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to therapy sessions and outcomes
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in music therapy

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Music Therapist (e.g., MT-BC) preferred
• Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or therapeutic settings
• Strong knowledge of music therapy techniques and therapeutic music interventions
• Ability to engage students with diverse abilities and backgrounds effectively
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
