Description The Post-Sales Legal Assistant is responsible for supporting the legal team in the final stages of foreclosure, REO (Real Estate Owned), or other post-sale legal processes. This role ensures accurate preparation, filing, and tracking of legal documents after the foreclosure sale, including title transfers, evictions, surplus disbursements, and court compliance.
Key Responsibilities: - Review foreclosure sale results and confirm legal compliance of sale process
- Prepare and file post-sale documents including certificates of title, deeds, reports of sale, and surplus motions
- Manage timelines for post-sale tasks to ensure regulatory deadlines are met
- Coordinate with title companies, courts, clients, and internal departments regarding document updates, title curative issues, and disbursement procedures
- Maintain accurate records in the case management system
- Draft and submit motions related to surplus funds, writs of possession, or objections to surplus disbursement
- Assist attorneys with document preparation and court filings as needed
- Respond to client inquiries related to post-sale matters in a timely and professional manner
- Track and manage evictions, tenant communication, and notices as applicable
Position Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or paralegal certificate preferred
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in a legal assistant, foreclosure, or real estate post-sale position
Skills: - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Compensation Details: $55K to $58K - The compensation amount is not guaranteed. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position, however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
Benefits Details - Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full-time employees at the 90-day introductory period. The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. The Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost.
