About the job
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Benefits Assistant to join our dynamic team
in Austin, Texas. As a Benefits Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our medical benefits
department by managing and processing benefits-related data, assisting with enrollment processes,
and ensuring compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience
with Microsoft Excel and be able to work efficiently with large sets of data to ensure accuracy and
streamline administrative processes.

Basic Qualifications
• Assist with processing and reviewing medical benefits claims, including verifying eligibility
and benefits details.
• Manage and maintain accurate records of employee medical benefit enrollments, changes,
and terminations.
• Support the benefits team in preparing and reviewing reports, spreadsheets, and data
analysis using Microsoft Excel.
• Process employee inquiries regarding benefits, offering detailed explanations and guidance
on coverage options.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance vendors to resolve issues related to
claims, billing, or coverage.
• Assist with open enrollment, ensuring timely communication with employees and
preparation of necessary documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations and benefits programs to ensure
compliance.
• Support the HR department in compiling benefits-related information for internal audits
and reporting.
• Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the medical benefits department

Core Competencies
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical benefits or related administrative role.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with complex formulas, pivot
tables, and data analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with
employees at all levels.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy when working with sensitive data.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and benefits terminology is a plus.
• A proactive attitude and a team player mentality.
